Great food and a great atmosphere. Had small s'mores for dessert they handed out for free

I had the most amazing Wagu beef cheese steak! No ketchup needed. The flavor of the beef and seasonings were perfection! My partner had a chicken cheese steak. He puts ketchup on everything and also pushed the ketchup to the side!! Added bonus- all of the staff were personable and friendly, and Scott, the owner, made time to talk with us about the restaurant. You could feel the passion for this establishment and the people as he talked. His energy has helped to make this a wonderful place to visit. And he happens to make the best cheese steaks too!! The perfect stop on our way home to Maryland from New York. We will definitely be back!

It's one of the more popular spots to grab a Philly cheesesteak, and the buzz of activity only added to the excitement of being there. Our server, Kechli N., was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and that our orders were just right. Despite the busyness, the service remained efficient and smooth, a testament to how well the team managed the high demand. As for the food, the cheesesteaks were everything we hoped for and more. Each sandwich was packed with tender, perfectly seasoned beef, melted cheese, and the classic toppings served on a fresh roll. The balance of flavors and textures was spot-on, and we all agreed that this was a fantastic introduction to Philly's signature dish for our friend. Shay's Steaks delivered on all fronts--delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Even with the crowds, it was well worth the visit, and the cheesesteaks left us fully satisfied and impressed. It's easy to see why this spot is so beloved in Philadelphia.

Ive been to em all and some are great but Shay's is the absolute best of the best! Some may hear that and be shocked , and to them I say go and try them for yourself! Shockingly good , I had no prior affiliation to the place and was absolutely blown away at how good they are! Proud to say Ive become friends with the owner and eating there is a must when I'm in town!

This is an awesome local cheesecake joint in Philly. Definitely take time to visit if you are in the area. Food: The menu is geared towards cheesesteak connoisseurs. The menu allows you to order popular sandwiches or even customized sandwiches. They have chips and bottle drinks available to go along with your sandwich. I had the Wagyu and I could definitely tell it was tender and juicy. I think I prefer regular prime or choice beef because of the texture. Service: 10 stars if I could. I met the owner and he was so friendly to our group of 6. He gave recommendations and even a small sample of the chicken steak (very juicy). Ambiance: I liked the location in city, not far from Philadelphia Museum of Art and Rocky statue. The restaurant is clean and welcoming to tourists. It would be nicer if there were more tables or space for larger groups. We had 6 in our party and had to wait for 2 tables.

Incredible food! There are no words to how juicy, and flavorful my cheesesteak was. It was so fresh and piping hot - made to order - exactly how I wanted it. The service was second to none. The owner was there sharing his story and welcoming us to the Shay's Steaks family. My only regret is that I don't live in Philly and we don't have a Shay's Steaks where I live. If you're in Philly - this place is a must.

Came in from Pittsburgh for work last night and found this place. Best cheesesteak I've ever had, and I've had sampled many cheesesteaks in Philly, as I visit often. I had the New York strip sandwich. The steak was so tender and the toppings and seasonings were perfect. Scott, the owner, came by to chat. Really engaging and an interesting guy! Will definitely try to make it back here on my next trip!

Splurged on the wagyu beef option and wow - mind blown! The meat was truly melt-in-your mouth and made me forget about the $42 price tag that came with it. At first glance the sandwich is pretty small but the filling to bread ratio makes up for it. I like that they have self-service machines to place your order and you can customize it with toppings and type of cheese. I came in the afternoon on a weekday and there was a line. Space inside is limited so I waited outside. There are a few tables and they seem to free up every once in a while if dining in. This was a treat for me and I'd come back to try the other options!

Best Philly cheesesteak ever !!! Went back twice while visiting Philly. The meat is super fresh and delicious, chicken Philly was really good as well. Love the place would definitely recommend!
